Introduce Yourself
Hi! I'm Carli Susu AKA Virtually Susu ( susu_vrartist on Instagram)
I'm originally from New York City, but have lived in the UK since I was a child. I studied theatre design at London's Central / St Martin's art college many moons ago, then found myself fulfilling my passions for art, music, textiles, travel, festivals and mixing and mingling with people, by running a faery clothing company, where I designed my costumes and had them made in various parts of the world, selling them at large UK music festivals. It was a fabulous lifestyle, and I travelled the world. The more I travelled, the more I realised that globally we truly are parts of the same organism, Mother Earth, all connected.
A couple of years ago, 2020 to be precise, the world seemed to grind to a halt, no more festivals, no more parties, no more travel, no more mixing and mingling.
Really, I think this had to happen. We are using up earth's resources as if it's a bottomless pit, and if there's any virus, it's us, the human race. I saw the pandemic as Mother Earth kicking us up the backside; SLOW DOWN HUMANS BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!
I had to re-evaluate my fun, but frivolous lifestyle; find out was was really important, what really had meaning to me. This was an opportunity to reset, and we were given the luxury of TIME.
I had discovered Virtual Reality a few years earlier, first at a local to me Brighton UK exhibition, where I put on a VR headset for the first time and was blown away, and again at the prestigious Saatchi Art Gallery in London attending an exhibition that featured the breath that connects us.
Now, I had all the time in the world to explore, and seeing as I could no longer travel the 3d world, I decided to create my own spaces to travel to, my own inner worlds. I bought an Oculus Quest headset, and a powerful gaming laptop, and off I went.
This website is a small taste of my inner landscapes. I am inspired by Mother Nature and technology in equal measure. I'm also influenced by my Pagan ways, and the cycles of nature, the moon and all of life. I'm obsessed and paint every day. I never know what I will end up with, I just dance with the paint. Every new work is a surprise to me.
As an artist, one must remember that just like anyone else, I need to eat and pay the bills, and so, if you like what you see, please support this artist by buying one of my NFTs. I really believe in myself, because I LOVE what I do, and I know that with LOVE anything is possible.
I believe that my art will only go up in value.

Blessed Be!
